1065 abutilon Darwinii mentioned. [p. 1065: "A fact worthy of notice, relating to the Fertilisation of Flowers, is recorded in the current number of the "Botanical Magazine." A very pretty new Abutilon, raised by Mr. Darwin, from Brazilian seeds, is figured in the periodical in question, under the name Abutilon Darwinii; and it is stated that, during the early part of the flowering season, it is absolutely sterile with its own pollen, but fertile with the pollen of any other individual of the same species, while later in the season it is capable of self-fertilisation".]
