Intercrossing plants of the 7 s. fertilised generation (with Ipomœa & Mimulus) which which had been subjected to the same conditions, did not the least good to the offspring.

With Mimulus this was repeated tried on the next after 2 addition generations of s. fertilisaton; & now the intercross did do some good in height as 100: 85, & in fertility as 100: 65.

Th With Escholtzia— a cross by a fresh stock increased greatly fertility over intercrossed for 2 generations & no doubt must have been for all previous generation — Brazil ─a ratio of 100: 45
