General Conclusion
S. fert plants of 3d gen. Dianthus were crossed by the intercrossed of corresponding generation, not hardly related, they exposed to the same condition for 3 generations, & the offspring from this kind of cross were
in height as 100 to 95
in fertility — 100 to 73} compared with the self-fertility of the 4th generation.
So that the crossing did this much good after 4 generations of uniform conditions, but the good was small compared with that effected by fresh stock viz in height as 100 to 81 in fertility as 100 to 33.
