July 20th 1860 Saw small kind of Bee forcing way into unopened Broom flower — saw B. muscorum sucking old opened flower— pistil like hoop was pushed about, but did not go on back— under side of pistil like [moon] spoon — before calyx split fully of pollen there — Pistil & stamens spring up when keel opened— No tuft of hair round pistil
