Summary of Results — Observations assumed to have been made Each day at 12°. They were really made at 8° A & 4° P.m. The sub-division of the peas in 1, 2 & 4 disregarded, as I am not quite sure that they were not mingled by rolling together. The main divisions of 1, 2, 3 & 4 are perfectly reliable.

Date Peas placed on damp sand under glass-cases on chimney-Piece on Feb. 17th. 2° 30' P.m.

[data not transcribed]

The few remaining seeds all dead & rotten

All the many others died rotten

If you look up the 12° on Feb 24th the big peas from a big peas clearly had an advantage over the small peas from the big peas

[49v]

10 self-fertilises

10 crossed cases

But out of 10 cases of s-fert pure

Ipomoea 3 cases of s-fert lighter
