Sept 20th 1865. Seeds Seedlings from a Hom. long-styled Cowslip-Polyanthus, again fertilised by own pollen (i. e grandchildren of ordinary plant) germinated several days before seeds seedlings from an ordinary long-styled Cowslip-Poly fertilised by own pollen (i.e. children of ordinary plant).

(I think something of this kind occurred with Chinese Primrose)—
