1873. Sep 5th

Foxglove.

6 flowers were fert. with pollen from other fl. on same plant & 6 were fert. with pollen from same flower; capsules carefully opened & seed put in watch-glasses, no apparent difference in quantity; nor could I perceive any difference when placed in all in 2 watch-glasses.

I have weighed them, the seeds from crossed weigh about 7.65 gr & from the self-fertilised about 7.7; so a trifle Heavier.
