following page "I was directed to these figures by Prof. Huxley, from whose work, 'Man's Place in Nature,' the idea of giving them was taken."

These are about same state of development - thus more accurate these [saying] can work. In the latter there is transparent white space which might be very slightly shaded - Have drawn on same side - Get Huxley to add explanation of letters. Give authorities & say idea taken from Huxley's Place of Nature & excellently carried out by Häckel Schopfungs-Geschichte [illeg] wd be best man.
