In ♂ Typhæus, in proper place a brown thickened ridge crosses coxa. Which surface of

coxa covered with apparently minute scales bristly on edge –but these scales become confluent on brown ridge, & found excessively approximate quite parallel & quite straight lines, covered with equal-distant,

excessively minute bristles - can only be seen with 1/4 inch glass. I think [instrument] or rudiment of one. That oblique brown bend does not form a ridge, but a distinct slightly rounded prominence. I can see an [instrument] to ♂ Lucanus cervus.
