B. Mus. March 17/68/ Mr. Bates remarks that when [7 words illeg] Chalybs (Thecla of some authors) regalis - both sexes splendid & nearly alike, satyroides brown on upper surface

So much affected are the colours of upper surface of Lepidoptera that Mr Bates & Butler remarked to me in many groups Ent. are obliged to draw these characters from lower surface of wings - The lower surface often shows affinities.
