May 14. Geotrupes - name can be made out for spec. - The band of crenulated ridges look opake on coxa, oblique. - noises slight emitted when abdomen pulled backwards & forwards - The part of coxa with the file fits into slightly hollowed post. abdominal segment, of which the ridge of part is thickened, some prominent & projecting, furnished with rather stiff little bristles.
