Cyprinodonts will be described in Zoolog T. In sp. 1 dorsal fin shape very different, ocellated with bright spots; slight projection on basal margin of anal fin. Fresh water fishes habits unknown.

In second species wonderful projection of anal fin, no muscles in the filament, brightly colour, mere ornaments like peacock's tail; must be figured. Young males like females.

(In sticklebacks no difference except colour male trout fight incessantly. Knows nothing about musical fishes.

Lizards Ceratophora Stoddartii. See Indian reptiles Roy. Soc. Old males with flexible horn on snout about 1/3 inch long female quite destitute. Animal torpid. G. asked whether sexual selection could make this? Must say no, but other species make it doubtful; sexes differ in colour slightly with plainer types on side of neck, as also with many lizards.

Another species has wonderful scaly snout with horn at tip with erectile tissue within. Chamælio bifurcus wonderful difference a great double projection of bone covered with scales on snout; no trace in female. Slightly developed in half grown male. Ch

Cha. Owenii An astounding triple horn on snout. These horns are modified scales & therefore quite different structurally from last species. Any one wd think adapted for fighting but very important from habits of animal.
