Monkeys Feb 19th I prefer this two to other pair there is a slight difference in them leading probably to viz of S. Selection

Moustached Monkey - C. cephus is more ornamented than the Diana; in the young colours not so much pronounced & wh. in adult female remain mostly the same but Mr. Bartlett is sure that they become more pronounced in the adult male & he believes periodically. The tail of the adult male is chestnut but grey in the f.

In the Cercopithecus Diana m: the head of the adult m. is intense black whilst that of the female is dark grey; in the former the fur inside the thighs elegant fawn coloured in the f. almost white. The rich chestnut on back is perhaps rather more intense in the m. than in the f.
