Hutton, Thomas. 1842. 'Borz' of the Afghans—wild goat of Afghanistan, 'The Paseng' of authors. Calcutta Journal of Natural History 2: 521-535. Darwin cited this in Descent 2: 249, n18: "Mr. Blyth, in 'Land and Water,' March, 1867, p. 134, on the authority of Capt. Hutton and others. For the wild Pembrokeshire goats see the 'Field,' 1869, p. 150." Darwin incorrectly gave the date of Hutton's publication as 1843.
Tschudi, Friedrich von. 1856. Sketches of nature in the Alps. From the German. London: Longman, Brown, Green & Longmans. (Translation of Das Thierleben der Alpenwelt.) CUL-DAR.LIB.630 Abstract in CUL-DAR71.66-7.205.2.124.
