p. 82 Callorhinus ursinus. "The weight of the full-grown ♀s, according to Capt. Bryant, being less than one sixth that of the full-grown males."
p. 100 "When their jealous lord is off his guard, or bogged in driving a-way a rival, the ♀s slip into the water, where an attractive bachelor seal follows her to a distance from shore."
