"Bartlett, Abraham Dee, 1812-97. 1859-97 Superintendent, Zoological Society's Gardens, Regent's Park, London. Renowned taxidermist. His shop was near the British Museum. In this capacity CD had contact with B. Among the animals B stuffed were the first gorilla ever shown in England (1858), and the famous elephant Jumbo owned by P.T. Barnum, of circus renown. Z. Gardens. Nov. 8/68 Monkeys (Sexual) Selection Mammals Callithrix sinensis, very pretty - green back orange legs - tail tipped with dark brown - naked skin all round mouth as if it had dipped it in ink -

face flesh-coloured

Hapale Jacchus (Marmoset) with large tuft of hair clear to ears: in allied new species, white with yellowish tinge, the ears therein are furnished with tufts of Hair

Moustache monkey (Cercopithecus cephus) a beautiful animal - with blue face, with upper lip almost white (hence I suppose name) yellow whiskers - tail reddish. - Mr B believes adult males have redder tail & bluer face than females.
