"Bartlett, Abraham Dee, 1812-97. 1859-97 Superintendent, Zoological Society's Gardens, Regent's Park, London. Renowned taxidermist. His shop was near the British Museum. In this capacity CD had contact with B. Among the animals B stuffed were the first gorilla ever shown in England (1858), and the famous elephant Jumbo owned by P.T. Barnum, of circus renown. Frequently helped CD by answering queries and sending materials. Letters with CD published in 1900 (F2183)." (Paul van Helvert & John van Wyhe, Darwin: A Companion, 2021.)

Z. Gardens. Nov. 8/68 Monkeys (Sexual) Selection Mammals Callithrix sinensis, very pretty - green back orange legs - tail tipped with dark brown - naked skin all round mouth as if it had dipped it in ink -
face flesh-coloured
Hapale Jacchus (Marmoset) with large tuft of hair clear to ears: in allied new species, white with yellowish tinge, the ears therein are furnished with tufts of Hair
Moustache monkey (Cercopithecus cephus) a beautiful animal - with blue face, with upper lip almost white (hence I suppose name) yellow whiskers - tail reddish. - Mr B believes adult males have redder tail & bluer face than females.
