Blyths Laws (corrected)

(1) When the plumage of the young male & female are alike & differ from that of the adult male, the plumage of the adult female either resembles that of young male (Peacock) is or of adult male (Robin), or is intermediate between them. The latter case is connecting case & is correct with Birds by 2 moult like [illeg]

(2) When the plumage of the young of both sexes is alike & resembles that of the adult male, the female resembles the male (Crow, Jay), except in the rare case where the female is more beautiful than the male.

(3) When the plumage of the young of both sexes is not like, the young male resembles the adult male, & young female, the adult female, more or less Blackbirds - some Humming Birds. (Rare cases.)
