May 11/ The age at which the variations of colour of the plumage supervened, after long continued augmentation through S. Selection, has determined the near resemblance of the young to both parents, or to the female parent alone & in some cases to the male parent, the similarity or wonderful dissimilarity of the two sexes — & ultimately to a larger extent the correlation of open or concealed nests.
