Lieut Beavan on Cervus eldi (of Pegu) says "both sexes begin to breed at about 18 month old, the young males first begin to acquire horns in the 2nd year. After 2 yrs they get 2 tines, & when about 7 yrs old are in their prime with 12 tines including the brow anther."
