Proc. Ent. Soc. Feb 17. 68 - Discussion on numbers of sexes in Insects – Stanton [Stainton] on results from breeding & capturing different.

M'Lachlan mentioned Apatania muliebris, neuroptera - Phryganidæ ♀ of which he had captured hundreds, but the ♂ had never been seen. (In all such case, where parthenogenesis not suspected, some error or some explanation will be discovered) & Boreus hyemalis of which only 4 or 5 males had been seen in this country.

Mr Janson mentioned Tomicus villosus, the ♀ so common almost a plague, male hardly known.

Mr Smith alluded Tenthredinidæ, of which ♀ abounded & ♂ very rare.
