Swinhoe in letter dated Shangai March 26 – 1873 says, it is uncommonly rare in Chinese, & with Europeans in China & with Lascars; but amongst the negro stokers of Steamers & among Chinese has not found a single prominent case - says curious seeing how much more pithecoid Mongolians & negros are than Europeans (To note which case are of variability??)
