G. Bennett, Wanderings in New S. Wales Vol 2 1834 p. 62. The drake of beautiful Mandarin Teal was stolen in China & the duck left, who was disconsolate. The drake was recovered after 3 weeks & the pair instantly recognized each other with much extreme joy. In the interval the duck had been courted by another drake who sedulously displayed all his charm before her.
