["Rogenhofer records the observation of H. Berthold, that a sound is produced by the male of Thecophora fovea, Tr., during flight, which he attributes to the presence of a pale scaleless groove existing on the hind wings. Rogenhofer remarks on the similar sounds produced hy Ageronia feronia and Halesidota specidalis. Verh, zool.-bot. Ges. in Wien, 1869, pp. 918, 919."]
