GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF LONDON,

BURLINGTON HOUSE, W.

Dear Sir

Your letter of December last was placed before the Council of this society this afternoon. The Council regret that the Society have nothing of any interest to contribute to the Darwin Centenary Celebration

I have spoken to Dr Teall and he thinks that the specimens they possess of Darwins collection at [2 words illeg] could merely

add to the fine collection already possessed by Cambridge

Perhaps it would be as well if you write to Dr Teall officially as head of the geological society.

Believe me

yours sincerely

Edmund J. Garwood

A. E. Shipley, Esq Sc D.
