CHARLES DARWIN AT CAMBRIDGE.─

"Ignotus" writes:─ "May not the connexion with Christ's of their first cousin and my kinsman, Hensleigh Wedgwood, who became a Fellow apparently about 1828, and was the 'wooden wedge' of the first Classical Tripos in 1824, have influenced the brothers Erasmus and Charles Darwin or their friends in the choice of a college? From the intermarriages of the Darwin and Wedgwood cousins it seems fair to infer that the ties of kinship between them were more than ordinarily close and affectionate."
