[in Seward's hand:] Bring addresses Ju 3d ACS

Dear professor Seward,

As I am bringing two adresses (both very short!) and three diploma's (to Lord Rayleigh, Sir George Darwin, and Mr Francis Darwin) I would like to know whether it would be more convenient for the honorary secretarial to have them beforehand or they will be presented directly for the NB Family

I have read [illeg] in the papers that a kind

of an exhibition is in prospect during the Darwin celebration. As it might be interesting to have a collection of late Mr Darwin's works in all the languages of the earth, the editor of the new Russian edition just issued (a jubilee edition as we call's it) has sent at my request ─ a copy to your address and also the best edition of my little book on Darwinism. May I present these books─en

guise de curiositi ─ to your university library.

I have just reviewed your book ─ Darwin and modern science and have read with great satisfaction your remarks to De Fries's article. For my part, I have always considered his attacks on Darwinism as a kind of fuss─ the ignorance of the reader being taken to account.

Begging you to remind me kindly to Mistress Seward

I remain yours very faithfully

C. Timiziazeff
