8th Febry, 1909

Dear Mr Shipley,

I brought up your circular letter about the Darwin Centenary (which reached me on the 23rd ult.) in Council, and am instructed to share that the Council are willing to lend the Collier portrait, provided the expenses & transit, and special insurance do not fall upon this society.

If you could meet the views of the Council on these points, I shall be glad to arrange details with you at the first convenient opportunity.

I am, Dear Mr Shipley,

yours faithfully,

B. Daydon Jackson

General Secretary
