Asked from [illeg]

Dear Sir.

You wrote to me- some weeks back- about a little portrait that I have of my uncle Charles Darwin- as a child.

As it is a delicate chalk drawing- I was afraid of sending it by rail-, I think you agreed that there would be a risk in doing s- But I find that my sister Mrs Vaughan Williams will be going to Cambridge on the 21s & would gladly take it with

her, and deliver it herself on that day— I am afraid however that this may be too late?

The exact size of the frame is 14 1/2 inches x 13 3/4.

I do not know whether it will be possible for my sister to bring back the little picture with her when she returns on the 25th. I am sending the photograph of the picture on by post.

I have a photograph of a Picture of Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles Darwin) by Wright of Derby—

I do not know whether you already have a copy or whether you would care to have this sent to you by post?

yours very truly

K. E. S. Wedgwood
