Darwin, settled in London, began a life of scientific work and publications. This is the title page to the first edition of Journal of Researches (1839).

It was first called Journal and Remarks and later Journal of researches and from 1905 began to carry the title Voyage of the Beagle. All significant editions and translations are available in Darwin Online.
